So, tonight I thought to do a nice Zone 2 ride and film as an intro video to who I am, what I’m wanting to do, and everything like that - so I shifted some stuff around in the office/training error, bringing the camera and microphone closer to the bike, played around with OBS and making sure that I can record multiple sources (Zwift app and camera), each going to separate files with correct audio track and everything.
I start cycling, after a while I find the right robo-pacer, I keep up, I talk about myself, I crack a joke or two, keeping it what I calculated Zone 2 to be.
…And I did it all wrong …
Firstly the setup… when I was testing it out, I did it in my living room on my laptop and configured it with my inbuilt camera and microphone. I thought it all worked fine - I didn’t test it well enough! The 2 separate feeds with separate audio channels didn’t work, the audio was all mixed in and there was no proper webcam output at all!
And the zone 2… the bloody zone 2! I spent time finding out what my resting heart rate was, finding a calculator and finding out what my ideal zone is, and tried to keep to it during the session … whilst talking to the camera.
When I finished the session and the stats popped up, lo and behold I was between 3 & 4! So that calculation was spot on.
I will record a video soon
I’m planning on it within the next week but the basics of what I’ll be talking about (as it’s what I was going on about last time)
- Getting fit
- Trying to sign up for the London-Brighton cycle next year
- NHS weight management program
- How I need to fix up my bike
I’m also planning on writing more focused stuff instead of just what’s going on in my mind - but I’m still trying to get in the swing of things.
Till next time
