It’s currently the summer holidays, with that I’ve been away from the house for a good couple of weeks now; which in turn means that I’ve missed out of my Zwift sessions. It also means that I have not eaten well at all for the past 3 weeks, nor have I weighed myself. It’s 2 more days before I head home and I’m truly not looking forward to what any of my metrics are going to say about myself.
I know that life isn’t and shouldn’t be entirely run on me trying to do my best, especially if it makes it a bad time for my family; which is why I’m not beating myself up over it… I’m just not looking forward to seeing what those numbers say when I’m back.
Anyway, with all that excuse-making out of the way, the general update! One of the things that I’ve managed to do is cycle a couple of small trails with my eldest daughter. I borrowed my brother’s Rocky Mountain something or another, my kid had something that my mum had lying around and we hit up some trails over at Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk. She has only learned to cycle from the start of the summer holidays (long story short - we’ve tried to get her to cycle a fair few times but it was the buying of a bike for her little sister to actually get her into gear!) and most of that was cycling around a green on our road. This is her first time out and about, and on forest trails as well.
She bloody loved it! When we got back to my parents place she wanted to get straight out to some other woods, so we went to the Grove and we talked about other trials closer to home that we can go to together.
Oh no it seems that I’ll have to get a gravel bike now!
